What We Do

The Department of Neighborhood Engagement (DoNE) was established to invest and actively work with residents in providing and connecting to City and partner resources to realize solutions and improve the quality of life for all City of Lancaster residents. The DoNE office creates opportunities for dialogue, information sharing, partnership, civic leadership building, and action between the City government and neighborhood residents.

Our Neighborhood Groups

Meet Fire Chief Scott Little

As being the first to lead the Fire Bureau after coming from the outside, reaching out to the community was a top priority. Even after 1 & ½ years with the bureau, community support continues to be tremendous.

Meet the Housing Lead Team

For Elyse Poy, Karen Bousquet, Jaclyn Beltrami, and Darren Parmer, the daily tasks and challenges of the housing department seem endless.

Meet Executive Assistant Bernie Burkholder

In local government, internal and external perceptions vary from job to job. For Bernie Burkholder, her job as Executive Assistant is often portrayed as sitting at a desk all day and only answering phone calls or emails.

Meet Housing Inspector Wilfredo Perez

A member of the Code Enforcement and Inspection department and a faithful employee of local government, Wilfredo “Will” Perez never gets tired of the daily challenges presented in his way.

Meet Police Captain Sonja Stebbins

One of her favorite moments from working all of those years in the Police Bureau, involves two young females that Captain Stebbins would frequently see due to their parents. In the eyes of those girls, Stebbins was a role model and even began to gain their trust.
