What We Do

The Department of Neighborhood Engagement (DoNE) was established to invest and actively work with residents in providing and connecting to City and partner resources to realize solutions and improve the quality of life for all City of Lancaster residents. The DoNE office creates opportunities for dialogue, information sharing, partnership, civic leadership building, and action between the City government and neighborhood residents.

Love Your Neighbor Campaign – #LoveYourNeighborLanc

Love Your Block Mini-Grants 2021

Love Your Block was formed as a program that brings residents together to complete projects in their neighborhood. While the physical projects focused on trash and blight remediation, community and capacity building are also a key component. The goal is to help people get to know their neighbors and complete projects that they deem important. The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted this program, but there are still plenty of ways to build community and help out our neighbors. The Department of Neighborhood Engagement aims to award twenty $500 mini-grants to projects that build community during these times of social distancing.
