WHAT WE DO

The Bureau of Building Code Administration reviews construction plans and conducts inspections to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code and applicable local ordinances. The Bureau reviews and evaluates architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and fire suppression & alarm plans for new construction as well as for renovation or remodeling of existing buildings. The Bureau issues all building permits and manages the use of third-party plan review and inspection firms in the City.

 

The Bureau of Building Code Administration endeavors to provide efficient, consistent customer service to property owners, architects, and construction professionals, and helps to implement the thought and care invested in the planning and design stages of land development projects. Through sound guidance and oversight, the Bureau implements modern construction standards and ensures the safety, quality, architectural character, and environmental performance of our City’s public and private buildings.
