Mayor’s Tree Lighting & Tuba Christmas

The 2019 Lancaster City for the Holidays season will kick off with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting & Tuba Christmas on Friday, November 29 in Penn Square at the intersection of King and Queen Streets!

Join the Lancaster Office of Promotion for the long-standing start to the holiday season in Lancaster, the Mayor’s Tree Lighting & Tuba Christmas! The night features the arrival of Santa, the lighting of the Lancaster’s Christmas tree by Mayor Sorace, live entertainment by Prima, the San Juan Bautista Choir, and of course, Tuba Christmas! Plus, enjoy visits with Santa in the Lancaster Marriott, horse-drawn carriage rides, and extended Central Market hours.

Event is free and open to the public.

STREET CLOSURES

11 a.m. 000 block of N. Queen Street closed

3:30 p.m. 000 block of S. Queen Street, E. King Street and W. King Street closed

9:30 p.m. Streets will reopen

EVENT SCHEDULE

5 – 8 p.m. Lancaster Central Market open

5 p.m. Entertainment begins!

6 – 7:30 p.m.  Arrival of Santa Claus & Lighting of Lancaster’s Christmas Tree

8 p.m.  Tuba Christmas

7:30 – 9 p.m. Visits with Santa at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square & Lancaster County Convention Center

ACCESSIBILITY

The second floor of the Lancaster City Visitor Center will have limited space for handicap viewing. The Visitor Center is accessible by ramp and has an elevator to the second floor. Those with sensory sensitivity should be aware of flashing lights during the music performances. The tree will not have flashing lights. Please be aware of the potential cold temperatures and seek warmth when needed.
