Curbside trash & recycling collection is operating on schedule, however, oversize items (couches, tables, chairs, etc.) will NOT be collected at this time.

Street sweeping is suspended until further notice.
The petting zoo at Long’s Park is closed until further notice.
The City of Lancaster Solid Waste & Recycling Center is closed until further notice. There is NO CHANGE to curbside trash and recycling collection at this time.
Current construction projects will continue as they are able. Other construction will be emergency only.
No water meter upgrade appointments will take place until further notice.
10 portable hand-washing stations and 10 porta-potties have been ordered and will be placed in public parks throughout the city temporarily. Exact locations are TBD.
Reservations for park pavilions and activity permits will only be accepted by phone and/or email at this time. Payment will not be accepted in person. Checks can be mailed now, or payment provided when normal operations resume. Reservations will be confirmed and permits processed at that time. Visit the Parks page for applications. For facility and activity permits for larger events in other public spaces, please email email@example.com.
All City of Lancaster board and commission meetings (including but not limited to the Historical Commission, Shade Tree Commission, and Planning Commission) scheduled through the end of March are now cancelled.
City Council committee and regular meetings through the end of March are cancelled.
The Lancaster City Land Bank Authority and City of Lancaster Redevelopment Authority March meetings are cancelled. If you have questions about another upcoming authority meeting, please contact the authority directly.

Beau’s Dream Dog Park at Buchanan Park is closed until further notice.
The Historical Commission Meeting scheduled for Monday, March 15 has been cancelled.
The City of Lancaster is taking steps to ensure the safety of our staff and residents in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The City of Lancaster provides critical services to our community. Police and Fire, clean water production and wastewater management are priorities. We are taking particular care to ensure these operations continue and that the people who serve in these critical roles remain healthy.
For City residents, some changes:
City Hall will remain open, but only to drop off and pick up paperwork in the lobby. Please call ahead to talk with the department in question about how to best meet your needs.
The Visitor Center is closed through the end of March.
The Treasury office will remain open, but only for drive-through traffic.
City Council committee and regular meetings are suspended through March 31.
Housing and lead systematic inspections are suspended.
Water shut-offs are suspended to ensure all residents have access to water for drinking and cleaning.
During this time, our most vulnerable neighbors need our support. Many caring individuals and organizations have confirmed plans to ensure that all residents have access to food during this time. If you are able – please consider making donations to them to support these efforts.
Anchorage Breakfast (29 E. Walnut St.) will offer a daily carry-out breakfast starting Monday, March 16 between 8:30 – 9:45 a.m.
Arch Street Center (629 N. Market St.) will provide carry-out noon meals starting Wednesday, March 18 (at noon).
Grab-and-go bagged meals will be available at all School District of Lancaster Buildings while schools are closed. It is requested that families go to their home school to pick up meals between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Moravian Center of Lancaster (227 N. Queen St.) will be accepting donations of non-potentially hazardous items such as jarred peanut butter, nuts, granola bars, cookies, etc. to include in bagged lunches. Please bring bags M-F between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (and push the black doorbell) or call (717-397) 9722 to arrange an alternate drop-off time.
