City Offices closed for Christmas and New Year’s

The City of Lancaster will be closed on Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day.

There will be no street cleaning on Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1. Street cleaning parking restrictions will not be enforced on those days. Metered and residential permit parking will not be enforced on Wednesday, December 25 or Wednesday, January 1. Metered and residential permit parking WILL BE enforced on Thursday, December 26. Please note that city offices will NOT be closed for Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, and all parking restrictions will be enforced on Tuesday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 31.

There will be no trash & recycling collection on Wednesday, December 25 or Wednesday, January 1. Collection will be delayed one (1) day both weeks – Wednesday customers will be collection on Thursday, Thursday customers will be collection on Friday, and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday.

Online bill payments will not be accepted between Tuesday, December 31 at 2 p.m. and Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. The Treasury will be closed during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have questions or concerns, please call (717) 735-3425.

On Tuesday, December 31, the 100 block of N. Queen St. will close at 8:30 p.m. for New Year’s Eve in Lancaster City. The street will reopen around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1. For more information about the event, go to www.visitlancastercity.com/new-years-eve/.

The Lancaster City Visitor Center will be open on Tuesday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be closed on Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January. They will reopen with winter hours on January 2.

The Recycling Drop-Off Center will be closed on Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1 only. They will be open regular hours on Thursday, December 26.
