The Lancaster City Human Relations Commission positively promotes the cause of human rights and works to eliminate discrimination in the City of Lancaster through citizen action, education, and enforcement. The Commission promotes equal access to the social, cultural, recreational, and economic life in our City by administering and enforcing the City’s Human Relations Ordinance. Board members must be residents of the City of Lancaster. The members appointed shall be broadly representative of the cultural, racial, economic, religious, gender and physically impaired groups in the City. Members are appointed by the Mayor with prior approval of City Council and serve three year terms.
