Trick-or-Treat
In compliance with the Lancaster Inter-Municipal Committee policy, trick-or-treating will be between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Halloween (October 31).
The Lancaster Inter-Municipal Committee’s trick-or-treat policy, effective February 9, 2022, shall be to establish the recommended trick-or-treat date and time as October 31, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., rain or shine. As trick-or-treat is not governed by municipal law or ordinance, this is a recommendation only, and does not prohibit or prevent residents, organizations, and/or neighborhoods from conducting trick-or-treat activities on other dates or times.
Safety Tips
Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
Wear bright, easy to see colors or reflective tape. Consider using glow sticks or flashlights.
Walk on the sidewalks and use crosswalks. Do not walk between parked cars.
Never enter a stranger’s house or vehicle.
Be sure to have adults inspect all trick-or-treating candy/items. Do not accept anything unwrapped or not sealed.
