Recycling

Recycling containers shall be set out with trash containers after 6 PM the night before collection and removed by 8 PM the day of collection. Trash and recycling containers shall be stored to the side or rear of the property and not in front of the property. 

Recycling bins can be picked up at the following locations and times:

City Hall, 120 North Duke Street
M - F 8:30 AM - 5 PM

Treasury Office (inside Police Department), 39 West Chestnut Street 
M - F 8:30 AM - 5 PM

Streets Department, 515 North Franklin Street
M - F  7 AM - 4:15 PM

Recycling Center, 850 New Holland Avenue
M - F 8 AM - 5 PM & SAT 8 AM – Noon

Residents are REQUIRED to recycle the following materials:
- Glass containers (clear, green and brown)
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Plastic bottles (#1 and #2)
- Newspapers
- Leaves and woody yard waste

Penn Waste accepts more recyclables than what is required. Please see the most recent Penn Waste newsletter for a comprehensive list of accepted recyclables. 

Please follow the below guidelines when preparing your recyclables for curbside collection:
- Rinse all bottles, jars and cans to remove any debris
- Remove all caps, tops or lids on jars and bottles
- Place recyclables at the curb on your regularly scheduled trash pick-up day
- Paper placed in curbside containers can be loose - no need to bundle
- Yard waste must be bundled or set out in yard waste bags
