During the recent ice storm, many tree branches were downed. While the City will remove street tree debris due to the recent ice storms, this is being done to provide for public safety of the motoring public. Trees removed from private property will need to be disposed of by the property owner. Some township composting sites will accept this debris.
For example, West Earl Township has a drop site for tree cuttings and chipped tree debris. There is a $10.00 fee per load (pick-up truck to dump truck) to access the facility on a 24 hour basis. If there is a need to drop material at the site, the persons or business will need to stop at the office which is located at 157 West Metzler Road, Ephrata, PA 17522, during our normal working hours (8:00 am - 4:00 pm) to purchase an access card. This is only for tree cutting and chips. NO STUMPS are accepted at this site.
Please contact other surrounding municipalities to inquire if they will accept tree cuttings before making the trip.
