FALLEN TREES Residents and property owners should contact the Streets Bureau at (717) 291-4835 to report any trees that have fallen and are blocking sidewalks or streets to ensure we have all locations on our working list. If a street tree has fallen into the street, the city will remove those trees. This is our immediate priority. On Wednesday, August 23, the City of Lancaster teamed up with volunteers from IMPACT! Missions to make many improvements needed at Farnum Park. Smucker HVAC contacted IMPACT! Missions about a companywide give back day. Smucker HVAC wanted to do a project in the community including all 45 employees in their company. IMPACT! The City of Lancaster, in partnership with Manheim Township, has hired C.S.Davdison, Inc. to prepare a study to assess the feasibility of area-wide disconnection of public stormwater facilities from public sanitary sewer facilities in and around the area known as Grandview Heights. The study area includes portions of Manheim Township, Lancaster City, and Amtrak right-of way, highlighted in pink, yellow, and green, respectively, in Figure 1 below. Figure 1. UPDATE: Pine Street (Harrisburg to New) is now tentatively scheduled for demolition August 16 or 17, with paving following afterwards.   The section from Orange to Chestnut will still be on schedule August 7 as described below. ----- Next week, contractors for the City of Lancaster will be performing a full roadway reconstruction of North Pine Street (Harrisburg Ave to New Street) where recent stormwater and median improvements have been ongoing. The City of Lancaster’s Department of Public Works Stormwater Bureau will accept public comments related to the City’s Chesapeake Bay Pollutant Reduction Plan (CBPRP) beginning on August 3, 2017, and extending through September 5, 2017. The City’s CBPRP was prepared to meet the requirements of the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) permit with the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The City of Lancaster, Bureau of Water is starting a water main rehabilitation project later this month. This project involves the cleaning and structural lining of the water mains in the Quaker Hills development. This work will structurally rehabilitate the existing water mains to prevent the frequent water service interruptions that have occurred since April of this year.
