UPDATE 3/23: Due to heavy snow accumulation on Wednesday, March 21, Wednesday and Thursday trash collection routes were cancelled this week. When multiple days are cancelled, Penn Waste cannot complete all routes by the end of the day Saturday, and by law are not permitted to operate on Sundays. Thus, the schedule changed from a one-day holiday delay back to regular collection for Friday customers, with Penn Waste accepting double the amount of trash allowed for Wednesday and Thursday customers next week.
This disruption has created confusion for residents served by the Friday collection route. To ensure that all trash and recycling is collected, Penn Waste will accept double the amount of trash allowed for all Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes during the week of March 26. Since this will put a tremendous workload on the collection system, please delay setting out large items or trash that could be held for another week if possible. We also request that any trash and recyclables set out at curbside that were not collected be removed and set out again at the normal time next week.
We encourage residents to regularly check our website, as well as follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor) and sign up for e-alerts. Additionally, residents can receive updates directly from Penn Waste by signing up at www.pennwaste.com.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
