TRAFFIC ALERT - Penn Square August 3 & 4

On Wednesday, August 3, between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm, contractors will be detouring both Queen Street and King Street at Penn Square as a new overhead traffic signal pole is installed and the old one is removed.

     - Motorists heading north on Queen Street will be forced to detour east on King Street
       (to Lime-Orange-Queen).
     - Motorists heading east on King Street will be forced to detour north on Queen Street
       (to Chestnut-Duke-King).

Flaggers will be present to help traffic flow and to prevent cross-street issues and intersection blockages. Additionally, we will install a message board on South Queen (at Church) to try to get motorists around the downtown congestion via Church Street to Lime Street. Delays should be expected.

ALSO

On Thursday, August 4, PPL will be restricting the 000 block of North Queen Street (and working at Grant Street) to perform maintenance on the transformer vault grating in the street. Lane and parking restrictions will be present on Queen Street between 9 am and 3 pm. Northbound Queen Street will be down to one lane prior to the monument to prevent issues at the monument at Penn Square. Delays should be expected during this time.
