Quaker Hills Water Main Rehab Update

In a previous letter dated August 31, 2017, the City stated that because of problems with the production of raw materials due to recent hurricanes, we were pushing back the schedule of phase 1A and 1B.  Since the last letter, the supplier of the structural liner has informed us that they will not be able to produce the structural liner this year to meet our schedule.  Instead of using the structural liner, the City has opted to replace the water main in phase 1A, where the temporary water line is currently in use, with ductile iron piping. This change necessitated the City to bid out this work. The water main work on Phase 1A is now scheduled to start before November 1. This work should be completed before we see consistent freezing temperatures which would be a concern for the temporary water mains.

Phase 1B will move to next spring after the average temperatures are above freezing and phase 2A and 2B will take place after that phase is completed.
