Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12, employees for PPL will be performing nighttime inspections of manholes in the streets in the downtown. This work is scheduled from 7:30 pm to 4:30 am. Periodic, short-term lane restrictions and minor parking restrictions should be expected. Work zones will have lighting and lit arrow boards for driver safety.
This investigative work is the prelude to a large conductor replacement project scheduled from mid-May to late-July, due to several failures in the downtown network over the last two years. That larger reliability project will also be performed Monday-Thursday overnight, and will include some lane and parking restrictions.
