Mulberry Street 2-Way Conversion

Beginning March 14, the City of Lancaster’s contractor Pennsy Supply of Lancaster will be commencing construction activity on Mulberry Street, between Vine/Strawberry and Orange Streets. This is the first of several phases on this anticipated 15-month project. Work hours will generally be Monday-Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm. The first phase is expected to take approximately 12 weeks. Lane restrictions and parking restrictions should be expected during work hours, and overnight parking restrictions should be expected in the immediate vicinity of the work in progress. The work will generally proceed northward. More details on phasing and scheduling will be provided as the project progresses and the schedule can be updated.

Work on the overall project will generally include tree trimming and selective removal; curb, sidewalk, and ADA curb ramps; stormwater improvements including porous paving parking lanes, vegetated curb extensions, and subsurface infiltration beds; traffic signal work for vehicles and pedestrians; road reconstruction and/or resurfacing; traffic markings. When completed in Spring or Summer 2017, the roadway will be permanently made a two-way street.
