Beginning the week of April 11 and continuing into the week of April 18, contractors will mill the roadway over a period of approximately 6 working days, starting on the western edge of the city and proceeding eastward. Widespread daytime (Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm) lane restrictions and parking restrictions should be expected during this work. Following immediately behind the milling operation will be a scratch & leveling crew. After the milling/scratch operation is completed, the contractor will begin the final wearing course and line striping, again starting at the western edge of the city and proceeding eastward. The wearing course and striping is anticipated to begin on or around April 20 and continue until the end of the month. This work will also require widespread lane restrictions and parking restrictions during the 7:00 am to 7:00 pm construction period.
Motorists are advised to utilize other eastbound routes as possible, and slow down and exercise caution when traveling through any work zone. Please be alert for flaggers, as well as workers and equipment immediately adjacent to travel lanes. Uneven roadway conditions and raised utilities should be expected during this work, and travel delays should be expected on King Street and intersecting roadways. Residents and businesses are advised that parking violations will be strictly enforced to facilitate the work, and signage must be carefully obeyed when parking to avoid ticketing and towing.
