Disability In Housing Conference by the Housing Equality & Equity Institute at LHOP
Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 8:30 – 3:30 at:
Emerald Foundation Community Campus
2120 Oregon Pike
Lancaster, PA 17601
At some point in everyone’s life there will be a need for accessible housing; whether it’s derived from a lifelong disability, a short and sudden ailment, or the effects of aging, your housing may require modifications and/or accommodations in order to enjoy the dwelling to its fullest capacity. When we create opportunities for inclusion within our community for individuals with disabilities, we foster a deeper level of enrichment for all residents.
We invite you to the Disability In Housing Conference where you can expect to engage with and learn from experts as they discuss disability rights in housing. This event emphasizes how to meet the demands for accessible housing with tools and resources for real estate professionals, property managers, landlords, developers, and local government officials.
Some questions that will be answered:
· What is a disability
· What is a reasonable accommodation/modification
· Who is financially responsible for accommodations/modifications
· What questions can a housing professional ask a prospective tenant
· What happens if I inadvertently discriminate
· And more!
