Join Lancaster Rec for the 2017 Trick or Trot 5k Run/Walk & Monster Run for Kids on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Proceeds from the Trick or Trot 5K and Monster Run for Kids benefit Woodward Hill Cemetery’s restoration efforts and the Lancaster Recreation Commission’s Youth Athletic Scholarship Fund. The City of Lancaster has partnered with Penn State Cooperative Extension and the DEP for a free tire collection on Saturday, November 11 from 7 to 11 am at 421 S. Broad Street, Lancaster. Richard Gray, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and Wells Fargo joined in an event today to celebrate a 2017 First Place CommunityWINS (Working/Investing in Neighborhood Stabilization) Grant Award for Small cities (Less than 75,000 population). In a previous letter dated August 31, 2017, the City stated that because of problems with the production of raw materials due to recent hurricanes, we were pushing back the schedule of phase 1A and 1B.  Since the last letter, the supplier of the structural liner has informed us that they will not be able to produce the structural liner this year to meet our schedule.  Instead of using the structural liner, the City has opted to replace the water main in phase 1A, where the temporary water line is currently in use, with ductile iron piping.
