The City yard waste collection program resumes in April and continues through October. Residents can set out bagged or bundled yard waste on their first trash and recycling collection day of each month. Yard waste includes leaves, shrubbery prunings, garden residue and sticks and must be placed in paper yard waste bags available free at various city facilities. No soil, rocks, sod or trash should be placed in the bags. For larger woody materials that cannot be bagged, bundles weighing no more than 30 pounds with lengths under 4 feet can be tied with string or other biodegradable material. Please do not use wire, tape or plastic banding. Yard waste recycling is mandatory, environmentally preferred and saves the City money on waste disposal costs which helps keep program costs as low as possible.
